The Chemical Engineering Programme is concerned with the manufacturing of chemicals on an industrial scale. It also involves processes that convert raw materials into various products that we use every day through physical, thermal or chemical changes.
The NATED N4-N6 Mechanical Engineering qualification covers levels N1-N6 and is designed to provide the theory and optional practical component. You can attain a National Diploma once you have worked 24 months (2000 working hours) in your field of study. This qualification consists of one compulsory part (N4-N6 theory) and two optional practical parts, beginners level (done between N1-N3) and advanced (done between N4-N6)

N1 Entry Requirement: Grade 9 (Std 7) Certificate OR no formal qualification for everyone 23 years or older.
N2 Entry Requirement: Grade 10 (Std 8) Certificate.
N3 Entry Requirement: Grade 11 (Std 9) Certificate.
N4 Entry Requirement: Matric/Grade 12, or N3 Pass
NOTE: Proceed to the next level only when the previous level has been successfully completed i.e. N4 for N5, etc.
